Regarding warning lights and gizmos a few other unusual things on the Defenders over here I had not seen on others. A Seat Belt warning light via a switch in the release end of the belt, all I have seen are broken, but still in place. My warning light cluster has what looks like possibly a Cab-Over warning light; red, lower left side, might be indicating the cab was not secured?? No wires running to it though. Also a transmission temperature or more likely a PTO light, red, center lower row. Those wires I traced to termination above the transmission. A colleague told me Discos had a temp sender in the transfer case or transmission, wonder if I have a Cab-Over warning light cluster and this was part of that vehicles outfitting? Or it is for a PTO option? The low fuel light comes on randomly while driving when your at 1/4 tank and below, bright, yellow... very irritating at night.....

therenis a fix for the low fuel light if you have the ‘low fuel light ecu’ fitted. The LR part is a lash up but there is a replacement. Will dig it out tomorrow and send details

Wouldn’t fitting a resistor in the feed from the speedo cable transducer do the trick?
Solved by the wisdom of the forum! This thing giving me grief is a small diode or as Land Rover calls it a "Pektron". When I checked it out the thing fell apart in my fingers. Part number AAU5043 will get you the thumbnail. The original looked a little different but same connectors. Plug it in and the irritating noise problem is solved. Know a few people I'd like to plug one of these into, :)

Well done, land rover ownership is like that electrical gremlins are a regular problem, on defender earths and poor wiring is common causes

but it could be worse....

You could own a Range Rover where electrical gremlins are a daily occurrence and normally expensive and the vehicle wont go. mostly with a defender it keeps on going...

Where are you in Morocco, ?

have been a couple of times guiding UK groups up the Atlas Mountains, loved the country the scenery and the people are really great as well

pondering on maybe an expedition there in my 110 if
a i get it on the road
b we are covid free
c i convert it to camper

You are so right about the gremlins or Jins as the Moroccans call them. Fix one and two more sprout up.

I'm in Rabat.. Between Shopping Malls, StarBucks, Burger Kings and McDonalds its more like Miami, Florida U.S.A. then Morocco LoL. The rest of Moroccan cities and towns do the country justice though.

Touring the Atlas is fantastic, love those mountains. We have a lot of snow this year, but its a pity COVID has the ski resorts shut down. A spring time Tour Du Maroc is always worth the visit. Camping sites are plentiful and the weather is fantastic.
