I have a 1990 Defender 110 with a 2.5na and am replacing the engine with a Defender 200tdi engine. I thought I might as well replace the main wiring loom as I am removing the entire engine, gearbox & transferbox.

Will also get a chance to tidy up the wiring in the engine bay. Just a little bit confused as already the original 200tdi engine wiring loom is there with the engine, do I need to replace this to a new one 200tdi one and will this new one fit with my new main wiring loom.

Where can I get the main loom from and what is the part number? Would appreciate a speedy reply.

putting a 200 in really doesn't warrant changing the loom - is the existing loom that bad ?

the only significant difference is that the 200 glow plugs take their feed via a timer/relay whereas the older engines GP feeds come direct off the ignition switch - 200 fuel shut off solenoid needs a switched live, the starter/alt is just bog standard

Yes the loom of what ever is left is all hard and brittle. the previous owners (am the 4th) have gone and cut the loom in many places. Hence I need to replace it with a new loom.
