:welcome2:Hello all, I am desperate to restore a Land Rover defender 90 or 110 and trawled over numerous websites. One small problem.. I cant find anything suitable! :(
Budget up to 2.5k
Not fussy on details just wanting a long term project...
I live in Stamford, Lincolnshire and was wondering if anyone has a Land Rover for sale or knows anywhere suitable I can purchase one.. thanks :)

might it be a better idea to mention the budget, age, engine - or at least some other details other than simply wanting a depender ?

I'm not fussy, I just want a long term project for fun. my budget is 2.5k which for a the actual Car should be enough. however I am willing to raise my budget should I have too.

I've got a swb series 3 if you're interested.. I bought it as a project but I've got too much on at the mo'. It'll need trailoring. I've got a new rear quarter chassis to go on (included), which is just as well as I've cut off the rotten back end. I'm not asking 2K, I'm not asking 1K.....£500.. ono and I'll happily see it off my drive. :)

ive got an A reg 90. engine and gearbox are shagged as is suspension. body work is pretty good. chassis doesnt seem too bad.

No MOT I literally want a wreck I can completely redo

Unless you have a good size workshop to play in and all the kit for lifting engines etc you are best with something that has a solid chassis and a decent 300 or 200tdi engine and gearbox and an MOT
Easy to spend more than 3k restoring a wreck when you price a new chassis, replacement engine, gearbox, paint job and all those extra bits.... you would be very lucky to get your money back.
If you are a mechanic..... go for it. If no experience maybe make a straight forward restoration your first. Then make a wreck your second project. If you buy a non runner heap of ****e and you work 5 days a week make it 2 years to restore and 5k your budget.
I spent 2k doing a 90 last year and that had a MOT, good engine and gearbox and just needed a rear xmember and 2 outriggers, the rest was body work, springs, shocks, seats, wheels, tyres, brakes, electrics, cam belt, etc..
Be careful what you wish for! :)
