Mine has been overall pretty good,i have to confess it only does 3k-5k ish a year but in the winter those miles are not easy, but around fields and the general boggy swamp that we are at the moment, with insa turbos on.

she gets a coat of oil on the chassis twice a year and an oil change when i remember but normally once a year service

So need the 90 back on the road came very close to getting set in my L200 today and the landy would have ****ed it, prob wouldn't have even used low box whereas the L200 was in 4wd drive low with diff lock in and only just scrambled out off a flat ish all be it waterlogged grass field.

The L200 maybe more comfy and more reliable( 217K ) but if you want go anywhere in any conditions the landy is surely the right vehicle for the job.

I drove an L200 in my last couple of years as a Coastguard, as one of the lads said " they have now given us something powerful enough to get us into trouble " Great on the road but nowhere near our old Toyota off road which was almost as good as my 90.

Hahaha

stuff like this is a bit annoying... we’ve been land rovers on the farm for ever.. think we’ve had 8... current one 2004 td5 with 217,000 miles from new... as too tall to fit in a tdci so kept it... get ribbed a lot with pals who’ve got pickups because “land rovers always break down”... well in my experience everything cans break at some point and land rovers are no worse than anything else... this one engine and gearbox original and only had a new clutch fitted last year... the abuse this Land Rover and its predecessors have taken is unbelievable and it’s still going.. the great thing about them is if something does break its cheap and easy to repair.. means my one is kinda like triggers broom now but I bet it will still be going in 10 years time when all my pals pickups will be drinks cans... and the Land Rover will be worth more than it is now!

I like mine looking rough and ready, to me that’s how a defender should luck. There are too many Chelsea tractors ‘cruising’ around. Every single one of them should be naturally dirty!!!
