If I have to tow another car - where do I attach the tow rope??!!

I was under the impression that the ring (one at front and one at back) was for this purpose as in a "normal" car but have since been told that these were for securing the vehicle whilst it was being transported and would be dangerous to use???

I'm not talking about major recovery when off roading or anything, just if somebody is stuck on the road.

I have an adjustable tow bar with drop bar - just use that?

Can't believe I'm asking such a question, but there we go!!

I know! Haha!

Some muppet was winding me up I reckon - telling me I would rip off the back of the truck....

Jeez..........

Only if the crossmember is rotten. therwise they is good to tow 3.5tonnes or 4tonnes if you have airbrakes fitted to landy and trailer. (bit expensive that option though)

3.5 tonne on a defender tie down hoop? Sounds too much for me. I wouldnt be worried pulling a car with the standard defender loops. Its the car that you should worry about. I pulled a lightly stuck car out of some mud at a campsite the other week. It was hardly stuck but the cars recovery point was bent after. I used the jate rings on my 110.

You seem to have omitted the 1st 3 points. Try again but this time start by reading the OP's post..
