Sorry if this is repetitive, I've spent hours trawling forums before posting.
I own a 2004 Defender 90 Td5 XS with 235/85r16 BFG T/A tyres. They are getting old now and were the tyres fitted when I bought it on Boost alloys (They feel a little ott for my use).
I drive around 15k mile pa (mostly tarmac) with the odd by- way chucked in.
My first question is were 235/85r16 fitted as they left the factory?
Secondly, what would people recommend based on their own experience and the type of driving I do?

Thanks in advance.

Michelin Latitude Cross: https://www.camskill.co.uk/m64b1926s234p135290/Michelin_Tyres_SUV_4x4_Michelin_Latitude_Cross_-_235_85_R16_C_120_116S_TL_Fuel_Eff_:_C_Wet_Grip:_B_NoiseClass:_2_Noise:_72dB/RS_GB

These are the quietist and best MPG tyres on the market. Assymetric tread pattern looks the business. Very sure footed on roads and adequate performance for moderate off-road use.
This was the standard factory fitted tyre size.
That's great help thanks.
I was looking at the Michelin and was hoping to get an endorsement without prompt.

Cooper discoverer at3 sports. They are just as quiet as Michelins. Cheaper. Are excellent on the tarmac and on byways.

Thanks all. I went for the Michelin in the end. Quiter and smoother than my KO2'S even if they don't look as good.
Will see if they make a difference to mpg one a few tech issues are sorted....

We find KO2 or General AT2/3 best all round. A set of AT2s we had on lasted 50k! But the Michelins are more refined and cope fine in mild off road situations. KO2 looks the best and they are very capable on serious lanes.
