Can anyone help, ive got an 02 td5 90 county with a k & n filter and a scorpion racing upgrade and now want to take it to the next stage a larger intercooler with either silicone pipes or alloy pipes and EGR.
I have asked loads of questions to the right people at LRO Show in Peterborough and now which way do i turn. Allisport tell me that there large intercooler is manufactured by them and they supply most of the other landrover tuners ( twisted performance td5 alive etc) is this right? if not is there any difference in build, quality, performance? They also tell me i need to have a new down load or chip to acommodate the intercooler is this right? do i go for silicone pipes or alloy pipe and have an EGR fitted ?
Lastly who do i use, who's company will offer the best performance for a fair price and do a great job
to many questions i now i'm all confused!!!!!

Paul,

You wont go wrong with allisport mate, ideally if you tune the engine you should get an intercooler as well to keep the engine temp down, if you dont, a common problem with the TD5 is the manifold studs sheer off in the head as the engine is alloy and the manifold is steel.
This is due to the increase in performance you will get with a tune only.

If i were you, dont go mad, its a landrover not a lotus, get a mild tune rather than a large one...i was at the show on the weekend and saw what happened to an overtuned Landy from a well known tuning firm who had tried to push the limits....its not worth it.
Uprate the intercooler and remove the egr valve and thats all you need to do.

Its only my opinion but i would only use 2 firms:
Allisport and Bell auto services.
