Hi,
I've just completed an engine oil change and plan to do the diffs, transfer box and gear box next. I've tried to Google which oils I should be using however, there is so much contradictoiry information. Can someone clarify that the two oils pictured in the attached files will work ok. The Defender has 53k miles on the clock and only does about 3k per year.
Any other advice or recomendations appreciated.
Thanks

The gearbox uses a different oil to the transfer box and diffs.
The oil in the gearbox is thinner.
The Transfer box (LT230) and the Diffs use an EP90, 80W90 is on the thin side but would work.
I'd stick with EP90.

The R30 (gearbox) needs a thinner oil as it has an internal pump.
MTF94 is the oil specified by Landrover for the R380 gearbox.
You can also use ATF Dexron III in the gearbox.

I'm thinking of doing an oil change on my 2002 TD5 90. I have the space, time and tools and was wondering if It's a relatively easy job or is it fiddly and best left to the pro's? Any advice and/or piccies would be really appreciated.

Amusingly exactly the same text ...

You're in the US ?
Go to a Valvoline Instant (drive thru) Oil change place (or whatever your local equivalent is).
