Hi, my Defender TD5 blower has not worked for a while. Very occasionally, it will start blowing for anything from a few seconds to a few minutes but then will be totally dead for months at a time. I'm suspecting a short somewhere.

I've tested the switch and it is earthing correctly.
When I take apart the connector near the blower (with green/grey, green/yellow and green/purple wires), the green/yellow on the side of the connector going to the dash is earthing, no connections are showing any voltage.
The fan moves freely, as I said it does work very occassionally, and can be turned freely by hand.

Sounds like a short to me but before I take the dash apart, does anyone have an idea of the likely cause/area?
