what did you tighten!?
The steering box itself - on top of it next to the bleed nipple is an allen head bolt with a 19mm locking nut around it, loosen the 19mm off and wind the allen head one in a few turns to take up the wear and adjust the amount of free play in the box
You should do it with both front wheels off the ground, do it gradually and go lock-to-lock to check there are no tight spots etc.
