Anybody got any ideas on security? Found NS headlamp/surround missing on my Defender this morning (well, they were on the garden nearby) and I believe this means somebody might have been trying to steal it?
Ours is an 06 and I was told it has an immobiliser as well as the alarm, so they would have to tow it away?
What's the best security device I can fit. one of those steering wheel covers?

There was a story behind thieves going in behind the headlights and I can't remember what it was. Someone has definitely tried to have it away though, do doubt about it. I'll do some digging for the story...

put a big viciuos dog in it a night n sleep wi a shotgun in case yer hear it barking about best ive managed to come up with seems ter work

Dogs can't put out fires build your pride and joy a garage - then the sunroofs or windows will only leak whilst your motor is in the Tesco/ASDA car park.

I went away on holiday for a month, and i put my bicycle in the cab (was staying in uni halls at the time), slotted the back wheel over the gearstick, and chained it to the steering wheel. Noone tried to thieve it!

they get in behind the headlamp to disconnect your horn and there for making your alarm useless. i suggest moving the horn back to the bulkhead OR take a split from it and put a set of "la co ca racha" horns in there as well... then when they think they have disconnected it and get in, the whole street will think the ice cream van has come at 3am in the morn :D

certainly get more curtain twitching with that sound over a convetional alarm/horn.

other than that, several sleepless nights and your big mates on speed dial :D ;)

I wired a 100 watt police siren to my alarm and it is LOUD.
Scares the f**k out of me when I forget to switch it off.
Also makes the scrotes think the old bill are on their way.

Hi,

Mine 110 has got the factory fitted alarm, an aftermarket immobilser and a "DiskLok" a big steel steering wheel guard thingy.

Currently, looking at "smar****er" £22 per yr, got to be a bargin!

I may be wrong but I believe the impact sensor is behind the headlamps when this is activated the central locking undo all the doors.
