Anyone had the defender recall notice regarding front suspension detachment?
Anyone on here actually had the problem land rover are reporting?

Nope, but only coz my landy is an old (and better) one!

Read through the issues, and that's a very worrying problem! How/why are the hub assemblies coming off? Whats the difference between these newer ones, and the older ones?

Dunno, but I do know they used to be put together by machines that I installed .. Desoutter/Georges Renault torque tightening equipment used to build up the hubs and tighten the assembly fasteners simultaneously through a very precise sequence using torque and angle .. I'd guess that isn't being used now ..

Love the warning that losing the front hub & suspension could cause steering problems. Would never have thought of that..

I'd still rather have a defender with 3 wheels, than a freelander with 4!
