I have a Dixon Bate tow bar on the back of my Defender 110 Hardtop thus I'm not able to stick a recovery eye in the middle of the cross member. I figure there are two options:
a, stick an eye on the drop plate instead of the ball
b, put two eyes either side of the tow bar mounting.
Is option 'a' an option?
If I went for option 'b', do I drill new holes in the cross member because although it is littered with holes, none of them seem to be in the right place.
Any info/photos gratefully received.
Thanks,

Can I just stick the recovery ring on the drop plate? Wasn't sure if it would be strong enough for a snatch recovery?

If I get properly stuck I'm gonna have to dig my way to find them!! I'm new to this 4x4 stuff and want to keep my fairy soft hands in tip top condition!!

Or you could attach the rope BEFORE you start laning.

Suggest you get some thing other than a landy then lol, Get a pair of Jate's then before you get into the brown stuff attach a 2mtr strop to each then you can attach a recovery line when needed ( Remember to secure it to your rear thou lol)

If you really dont want to use JATE's and have an adjustable tow hitch then get another plate and put a ring on it how ever I recon Jates are the way.
