I love discos but I wouldn't have one long term due to the rust issues. Youy also can't hose out the inside due to all that carpet and upholstry. I'm driving one at the moment while I'm rebuilding my 110 and it can do pretty much anything a 90 or 110 can do but it will become uneconomical to repair sooner rather than later whereas the defenders just keep getting the "trigger's broom" treatment.

think you are right there mate apart from a 110 doing pretty much what a 90 will do, off road wise there is a big differance ie; wider turning circle , longer wheelbase/grounding out and not so nimble off the mark because of the extra weight.
but plus side if you fill the back up with all sorts of crap more load space in the back.
always had short wheelbase 88" or 90's, have driven 109" and 110's but just dont feel right to me ,but as long as its a defender
:hysterically_laughi

Agree about the nimbleness of an 88 or 90 over a 109 or 110. Problem is you can't get fook all in the back of a swb. If you're driving purely for pleasure fine but if you need to carry stuff it's got to be looooong wheelbase:D Plus you can kip in the back of a 110:D

Another newbie here, im interested in getting myself an old defender 90. im thinking of getting a vintage model, older than 1980 like. wud i be mad? any advice, suggestions or past experiences would be hugely appreciated!
