Hi all
I am fitting new suspension all round to my LR 110 (1989). I have new standard height genuine springs all round (from Rimmers) and Bilstein B6 shocks from Paddock Spares. The guy fitting the shocks says they don't seem to fit- LR specialist ex MOD landy engineer etc. He says 2" lift shocks would do better. Paddocks say they are for Defenders up to WA chassis ie yr 2000. They give no indication they have a start year. They are definitely std height shocks- paddock part number DA1005, front and DA1006 rear. Bloody annoying they assign their own part number rather than Bilstein's number!
I checked another Bilstein supplier- Haloperformance, who indeed list a different shock up to 1990 LR. This however goes against other shock absorber listings on Britpart, Rimmerbros site etc who say same fitment on pre1990 vehicles as afterwards.

Confused, and needing reassurance before Monday........help!

its not a paddocks no but britpart no for non std part ,the shockers or springs will fit from any age ,has he tried jacking up axle to fit shocker, there are loads of shockers listed to fit different years but they all fit dimensionally

Thanks for the fast reply. He says he didn't have time for a good play to get it to fit so hopefully he can get it sorted.

So from what you are saying, ALL std shocks will fit ALL Defenders/OneTen so long as std height springs? Begs the question why you'd pay the extra from the postWA chassis Bilstein shocks.

probably different top end fitting ie an eye as opposed to a stud set up.

wowa75, could you please take pictures of the shocks installed? I am also thinking of replacing all the old shocks/springs with standard, but I am not sure, if the fittings on my RRC are original - the car is quite old, so the mountings could be welded on by previous owners, and the standard shocks might not fit.
