Heres the black hardboard that I got from my local branch of city plumbing, I ordered it online and collected it a few days later. The lads at the branch had all been wondering which weirdo had ordered a 1960’s bath side panel …. Guess whoooo it was me! Some very strange looks until I explained what I was actually going to do with it (replacement rear door card without rear wiper cut out) they all must’ve of thought I had completely lost the plot 😂 I just think its good to reasure the general public that landy owners are unique, we think outside the box, can fix anything with simple tools and access to google, can improvise and save money on the smallest of items but spend sh1t loads on keeping out prides of joy on the road 💪 expensive parts 0 - chaper alternative that takes hours to make 1

Rear door card made out of the infamous bath side panel. Note rear wiper deleted as is as much use as tits on a snake.
Rear door strut made and fitted, strut is a 400mm long 50NM brakets made from 3 mm stainless

headliner cover hosed down then cleaned with carpet cleaner then left to soak with domesdos bleach. Rinsed after 30min and its looks like new. As the backing board was sagged have decided to use strong wood glue to attach 5mm ply. Click and collect some ply in B&Q which is in bangor 25 mile away turned up just to see the sign closed christmas and Boxing Day ! 🤦‍♂️

Seriously getting through the Christmas holiday landy job list … rear stub axle leak fixed.
Rear head liner strengthened with some ply and soaked in gorilla wood glue. Rear side panels sound proofed, just in case i ever pull into a lay by with Mrs H for some frantic passionate love making….. or maybe just best for keeping the road noise out !

Headliner vinyl re glued today, very happy with how it’s turned out. Will leave it overnight before fitting it tomorrow. Before and after pics what a difference a bit of bleach and scrubbing does

Did you already have those seat sliders? They're rare atm to get from anyone! :)

Yes original seat sliders and bases cleaned and painted, had a few welds to do to get them working as they should but apart from that they look as good as new
Don't ever throw them away, cost me £270 for a new set! and apparently britpart don't have any in stock at all

Phew thank goodness that I didn’t end up throwing the deivers one away as the tilt mechanism was broken, but nothing a big hammer and mig welder couldn’t sort.
I’m shocked with the prices of certain landy items, some expensive and otheres cheaper than thought. For example roof liners expensive, windscreens dirt cheap 🤷‍♂️

Today’s tinkering consisted of fitting the rear roof liner. Looking ok few creases in the vinyl around the alpine window cut outs but all in all I’m pleased. Landy then jacked up on axle stands ready for when the new boots arrive on Tuesday. Will take them to work to fit on the rims and balance on Wednesday.
