I found one ... thought I had one somewhere, put away safe ...

So the next question is, what do I put in the spare hole in the dash ??

I’ve actually dragged the Raptor dash out and having a look at it. I’m wondering now if I’m keen to butcher my dash to fit it 🤔

Having relocated my temp gauge, does anyone have a blanking plug spare ?

In order of useful ness that I have fitted (over and above fuel and temp):
time clock
rev counter
original voltmeter
boost gauge (more to fill the hole than anything else)

I am fitting the same to the station wagon rebuild minus the boost gauge as have a slightly different front panel layout on the raptor going into that.

Ones people have told me I should have but have managed so far without
Accurate voltmeter
accurate temp gauge (degrees rather than the dial)
oil temp
EGT

A rev counter is interesting me I think.
I have a cheapo (but accurate) digital voltmeter in the ciggy lghter hole, I have a stack temp and a boost gauge in a separate pod, and fuel and a clock next to the speedo.
I did think about an EGT the blanking plate with hole is already there.

Chineseium rev counters seem to be around £30 on the bay of E ... ??

The voltmeter is a bit of a boon as not only does it tell you what the voltage is on the AUX circuit (mines straight off the ignition) but it also lets you know the charge voltage etc. My 300tdi's battery voltage slowly drops as I go the 800yds up to my garage and back 5 times a week, which I can see as soon as I turn the ign on.
When the battery is reasonably well charged the voltage gets up to around the 13.9/14V on theses short journeys and as the battery degrades this charge voltage rises to over 14.4V - the voltage on starting falls to 11.3 when the heaters click on and around 11.9 when the battery is charged up (like after a 45min run).
I like a good voltmeter.

I have a VDO 0-4000 tacho in mine. but they are not as cheap as the no-name ones you can find on ebay and also require a w post on the alternator, so it depend son your setup for if it will work.

Cheers, I was thinking i'd need 6000 rpm (dunno why) and whats a W post ?
More to learn I guess ....

Yes, but ,,,, have I got one and what ratio is it and other questions ....
I don’t know if you have one. It depends on what alternator you have, I don’t think they have one from the factory but I have a hella 100amp fitted which does have one.

The ratio is less important as there are three switches on the back of the tacho (at least there is on the Vdo one) which in different combinations give different readings so you can set the tacho to match your alternator gearing and current rate.
