hi again

i have recently bought a set of clear indicators for the front it included two clear lenses and two amber bulbs, but when ive unscrewed the exisiting lens off ther is a black stem thing attached to the back and i dont want to pull the lens too hard incase it snaps off?? how do i get JUST the lens off??

cheers

There shouldn't be anything attatched...just squirt wd40 or washing up liquid all way round lens as its probably welded on with 20 years of mud, flies and cow****..

wrap a cloth round it and gently pull it will come off

what year defender is it? It could be that it's got the newer type lights where the lenses are permanantly attatched. Has it got a twist off bulb holder on the bottom of the black stem?

If you have replaced them in the past with the £1.99 pattern part ones then that will be your problem! I did this and now all my lenses need to be pryed off with a small screwdriver all the way around as the lense and the rubber must bond together and it leaves them looking a mess.

I would buy some genuine light units and replace them!

I had the same issue - the previous owner had superglued the two parts together for water prevention...
