Could somebody advise me on my defender's leaking problem. I have noticed recently that my defender 90 seems to be leaking on the driver side footwell. It only really happens in heavy weather, but when I put my foot down on the accelerator I get a wet foot! When looking at it today, the soundproofing/mats are wet underneath, which I have now dried. I was aware that bulkheads are prone to rust, which I guess is the problem. So should I try and find a Td5 galvanised bulkhead, or is there a simpler solution that could tie me over whilst I raise funds for a galvanised bulkhead. If the galvanised bulkhead is the way to go, are the 200tdi, 300tdi bulkheads the same as the early Td5 bulkheads?

Any advise would be gratefully received.

On a more serious not, there are many ways in which water can get into a Defender, and I don't think Land Rover ever made one that doesn't leak. The main areas are door seals, bulkhead top rail, behind pedal box, footwell floor, roof seal, door hinges, windscreen seal and basically anywhere 2 panels meet, or where a component or bolt passes through a panel.

Comes in from the seals on the gear box tunnel There's a water ingress manual on the web type it in on google....
Dum dum strips from woollies follow the manual and use these strips/ silicon which ever you prefer worked on mine before I decide to do complete strip down
