Look while I'd love the time right now to add some bits and bobs to the Defender, I don't, so looking for a good garage / handyman who can help do some relatively simple internal & external part replacements in the Matlock / Bakewell / Ashbourne area of Derbyshire?

Like what exactly do you want to fit as if it's say something like FF rear seats it's a bit more difficult than a cubbybox etc...

A mixture of internal and external bits - no engine / drive train related bits. Door hinges, swing away spare wheel carrier, 2nd row seat mechanisms etc... oh and yes a missing cubby box :D
I'm sure I could do much of it, if I had the spare time.

You moved from Edinburgh...I'm originaly from there but now in Algarve restoring Landy's...

Ok, just been and looked - the one where he is spending daft money to convert his 110 to elastic ?

Think we have run out of popcorn

Yes and he lives in Edinburgh so he says...and paying ECC a very reputable company to convert his Landy to electric and he wants a handyman to fit bits to it in Derbyshire to it...

Don't judge without knowing the full facts - my life is swamped right now with kids, work, etc. If you need the details, the 'fender is at my relatives place (where I'm from) but life has taken me to Edinburgh. The dream of the conversion may not sit well with many people on here, but as one member said, it's my motor and my hard earned money. I love Landies and work in renewable energy & engineering and want my car to be ready for the transition to a zero oil and gas future. Thanks for the tips on garages though ... if you have any.

How is this going to work ? What is going to lubricate this future ? How are food crops going to get grown ?

IMHO, if there is going to be a zero oil and gas future, it's not going to be in my grandsons lifetime, and as someone already mentioned, only 2% of world CO2 emissions come from transport anyway ...

Sorry, not trying to turn this into a Twitter discussion nor am I trying to start a discussion on the Climate Emergency. Just looking for a good parts fitter in the Matlock area of the Peaks. Thanks

DLS in Wirksworth have a workshop, not far from Matlock bath, or it may be worth speaking to someone at paddocks, i know they're a parts supplier, but they may offer up the details of some local landrover specialists.

Good luck with the conversion too

Yeah I sent Paddocks a Tweet but didn't get a response, so I'll try and give them a call as they are just around the corner
