Hi! Guys,
My 1991 Defender 110's windscreen is full of scratches and I would like to replace it here in India. Does any one have the correct template or the exact dimensions of the glass and the thickness.

It will be easier to get a new replacement made here in India.
Appreciate your quick response!

Not sure if you have time but you could take your old one out and use that as a template?

Failing that I'm sure someone on here has done it

I do not want to remove the old one out till I can get a quote from a supplier here and if he can give me the exact dimension and thickness. Its quite easy for me to take it out and then just give the original. Just do not want to take a risk. Better to get the new glass in hand and then do the needful, hence the request for the exact dimensions and thickness

When i used to work for an automotive glazing company we used to cut flat laminated sheets of glass to size on site using the old glass as a template. The old screen will come out in one piece with a little bit of patience and possibly a few cracks...:) Easiest way is to cut the windscreen rubber and refit the screen with a new one but that assumes you can get a new rubber. Im sure its only 5mm thick flat lam but dont know width and height sorry...There is also a slight taper top to bottom as well. If you have a tape measure you can measure the screen in situ and add 10mm to the width (across the top and bottom of screen) and height. The supplier should be able to quote you with these 'rough' measurements because i would imagine they price by the meter. Hope this helps.
