A guy in Germany is considering buying the middle front seat off my 2000 Reg Defender for his 2004 model
He obviously needs to know if it's compatible without hacking it about.
I can't find a part number on mine other than the original manufacturer's label Lear 9942
Does anyone know if there were any changes between 2000 & 2004 to the centre seat mounting etc.

Thanks in anticipation

It was my belief that the font seating was completely interchangeable throughout the entire range. but I will await someone with more knowledge to confirm.

Many thanks for that.
I'm trying to recall whether the later models actually had a middle seat at all.
I must try to be more observant.

Did they not change the width of the centre seat at some point during production? When the outboard seats were moved in an inch or so?

Just been skipping through a load of defender ads. on Autotrader and it appears that the middle seat is almost extinct.
Most of the photos of the interiors show the bespoke cubby box/cup holder arrangement.
Maybe I should put the seat aback in mine and advertise it as a very rare example of the defender!!

The main seats were moved in some with the introduction of the tdci and new dash. All I have seen have no center seat

Yes, you might regret selling it one day.
