Have you double checked you have ordered the right part number.... that cant be the right seal and very rare for a faulty batch? I just replaced mine, tight fit and had to tweek the striker plate out a tad till it beds in.... Ebay can be cheaper and better than Paddocks re postage....

Surely even the wrong seals shouldn't cause a gap of that size. The door should line up with the metal that the seal fits onto, any chance of taking a pic with the door closed and seal off?

get the old seal out as well and see if someone has bodged the top with a double layer

Right, I've tried on on another defender & there's still a gap! (not as wide, but still not good enough) It's definitely a bad seal. I forgot to snap a picture before I started a bulkhead change today

Just fitted seals from Rimmer bros, not OEM but gaps that I never had before.
Don't need to open windows anymore.
Are OEM seals any plumper to actually fill the gap?
Adjusted door catch as much as possible, but in vain...
Any help greatly appreciated

My new seals are the same, only at the top.

I've bought some Automotive Caulk strips so I've put some of them in the channel of the seal, it spaces the seal out a bit and seals it to the channel, and now they fit properly with no gaps :)
