Front track is 1555 to the outside of the tread. My rear (identical tyres but ENV axle - not sure if that makes a difference) is 1520. Front is still nicely inside the width of the front bumper which on mine measures 1620.

The drain plug on the new swivel housings is right at the bottom - getting the oil out is not a problem. Most of it comes out via the chrome ball anyway. :)
 
Sorry, more questions. Do you think that a 6.5" rim with an ET around 20mm would still be comfortable inside the bodywork.

Must admit when I looked at the Heystee swivel housing the drain bolt doesn't seem to be at the very bottom like the series casting, I only ask as I've had water get into the swivel housings before and of course it sits at the bottom eating the bearing, with the series its easy enough to crack the drain and get the water out.
 
Hmm - I see what you mean. I compared the Heystee casting with my old Series ones which I have yet to throw away.

You have a point - Opening the drain plug fully may still allow 2-3 mm of undrained space at the very bottom. I (not by design I can assure you) may have solved this problem by using semi-fluid grease in the swivel, which won't really drain out anyway.

Decent bottom bearings are reasonably cheap. And they are half of your steering. So if they're getting eaten out, WoF should fail it and you'll have to pop a new pair in. Easier to strip the hubs with the disc brake setup. No need to bleed.

I am on 6.5" rims. With 20 mm you are going to be right on the limit with this setup.
 
the only thing i had to do fettling wise when fitting a s3 lwb servo and dual circuit 11" tls system into my non servo 2a 88 1969 was to elongate the aperture where the pedal goes through the b.head,the cutting area is obvious as the b/head metal surround 'plate/border' around the aperture is the same,the existing wing cut outs were spot on,it all just bolted on without any fuss,my dec'69 is a transitional model so i may have been lucky though.
i got loads of valuable and very useful info from the 'terianns expedition land rover site' as to what componants are interchangable etc,

Sorry - Bit of misinformation back there. My rims are 5.5", not 6.5" as previously stated.

I think with 6.5" you'd be outside the wings.
 
Measured my Wolf wheels on my LWB, they are OEM LR ones, with a 235/85 they sit about 1/2" inside the body. There are 6.5 ET20.5 so any reduction in ET would soon take them outside the body. If the Zeus moves the wheels out up to 1/2" (I think its less) they should just be OK, Mine has the mill 2" lift and that does give just a bit more tyre to body clearance when steering..
That 200 mm servo doesn't sound right, that's 8" which is the std S3 size, I took the 8" off mine and fitted the 9" off a 90 to the Series pedal box (tricky but doable).
 
Just so you know it can be done I've mounted a pedal and servo from an 86 Range Rover with dual circuit master to my '68 2A hybrid and it all tucks neatly under the wing, had to cut and shut the pedal to get the angle and height right but not difficult. I cut the pedal box out of the RR bulkhead plate then added about an inch to the height to raise it and bring it back into the cab a little. the footwell was a LHD passenger side so I could position the pedals where I wanted with a clean slate, mines an auto but there's plenty of room for a clutch if you were fitting to a manual.
I'll get some pictures and post them if it helps.

Hope the pictures help, this is in my 2A/RR hybrid, managed to use the RR steering column as well and it went in without too much drama, still got to fit the MC and plumb in the brakes after I've overhauled the calipers along with lots of other stuff on the to do list!

All the parts came out of my old D reg RR vogue efi I think it’s a 10 inch servo. Haven’t mount the mc or plumbed in the brakes yet been sorting electrics on the efi to get it running properly. Might need to do a bit tweaking with the pedals yet as they re a bit high at the mo
