thanks for the reply. budget is from like £1500 to £2500 i reckon, iv seen some that look to be decent around that price, will they be riddled with problems at that price? whats the insurance like for lads of our age?
iv been told that the parts can be replaced quite cheaply as well, is this so?
Also im a fairly big person, about 6ft 2, will i have hardly any room in there, some people say there is like no head or leg room?

Thanks for the info mate, really appreciate it, i really fancy getting one, i think id much rather have a noisy uncomfortable truck then some crappy 1.2 nissan micra haha!

I've got seat rails in mine which give you extra height and extra leg room.I'm six two and have no problem.you should get good insurance deals as they are cheap to insure.they need looking after and do get ther niggles but that'll help you learn a lot.good luck.:D

In terms of insurance a defender 110 or 90 is the best as a specialist policy with adrian flux makes things alot cheaper, eg I'm 19 and had my license for a year aviva quoted me 2700 for my RRC, flux on the other hand quoted me 1493, however you have to be 19 for their policies, so it may be worth waiting or if you want the best quote use aviva or quinn direct (get quotes direct as they're cheaper) or if you have family with an nfu policy.

In terms of performance a V8 with LPG will return the same equivalent MPG as diesel, and you get that great exhaust note :D and a better motorway performance.

When buying Land Rover Defender car insurance there are several steps you can take to keep costs to a minimum. Consider these money saving tips if you're looking to find cheaper insurance for your Land Rover Defender:

Improve Security - reduce the risk of your Land Rover Defender being stolen or damaged by fitting an approved alarm and immobiliser system and parking your vehicle in a safe location at night.
Up your excess - you can lower premiums on your Land Rover Defender insurance by offering to pay a higher excess in the event of a claim. Be sure to set this at a level you can comfortably afford.
Limit your mileage - driving less can bring down the cost of cover. Reduce the number of miles you'll drive in a year and inform your insurance company.
Only pay for what you need - it's important that your policy provides the right level of protection but avoiding unnecessary add-ons can help you to find cheaper quotes.
Shop around - don't assume you're renewal quote is the best deal available. Compare quotes from other car insurance companies to see how much you could save.

Nice, where did you copy and paste this from?

You wouldn't happen to work in the car insurance trade would you by any chance?
