Not that I've seen.I have some corrosion on my roof and wondered if you can by repair panels from any where?
That roof corrosion is unusual in my experience. You could take the roof off and rub that back to bare aluminium I reckon. Leave it too long and it might go through. Once back to bare ali you could etch prime it, skim it with filler and repaint.Photos now attached. Also can you replace the o/s/r top panel with the window in, but just the rear?
Galvanised cappings are not cheap CLICK HERE but worth it if you are keeping the Landy. If yours aren't rusted through, you could clean them up with a wire wheel and get them dipped yourself. It should be a lot cheaper.Cheers guys that's what I'll do. I need to change the body cappings anyway as they are corroded.
Cheers for that I have used these in the past for buying steel but didn't realise they done galvanising. I will look into this.@neilp1
I've just realised that your location is Newcastle. If you're interested you could Google your own places to get stuff galvanised, but I used Franklin Steel in Blaydon. When I did my rebuild about three years ago they had an initial minimum charge of either £18 or £25 (can't remember exactly) + a charge per unit weight after that. This means you need to collect everything you want galvanising and take it all at once. Or else you pay the £25 every time you go! That sounds pretty exact, but the guy always estimated when I went. Having said that, it always seemed decent value to me. I've got no link with the company what so ever!
Probably should have said that they do not do it there. They collect a load and send it off to a place in Southern Scotland on a Tuesday and the wagon comes back on Thursday. If you send stuff on the Thursday it doesn't come back until the following Tuesday, etc.Cheers for that I have used these in the past for buying steel but didn't realise they done galvanising. I will look into this.
