Hi, first question on this forum, haven't got my defender yet but am going to look at a couple this weekend but one of them doesn't have any rear seats and was wondering if anyone has fitted land rovers factory fold up seats before and how difficult/ expensive it is to do?
Thanks in advance!!

This is a well documented subject you will find on any LR forum.
Options are;
Source OE Land Rover forward facing seats (expensive)
Source OE Land Rover side facing seats (expensive)
Adapt other manufacturers seats to fit either front or rear facing.
Issues are (can be);
Safety (seat belt mounts, seat fixings etc)
Insurance
Load space reduction
Expense.

Google paddocks spares, have a look at the seating options. I have fitted 4 inward facing fold ups in the past. Easy enough to do, depending on your skill. You'll want to have a reinforced anchor point for your seatbelts.

As above. I fitted 2 inward facing fold up bench seats in the back of my 1996 D90. Cheap and easy to do. Seatbelts not required as they wouldn't have originally have been fitted in '96 (I'm sat here waiting to be corrected on that one).

Thanks for the replies, so if we go down the OE route its going to get very expensive very quickly? what sort of price are we looking at, circa £1000?

Remember the vehicle is no longer made, so OE stuff may not be available. Have a look at Exmoor trim if you want good quality replacements. You'll still be looking at the guts of £1000 if you include seatbelts.
