why not have a think about what you want to do with your landy and go from there. there are simple options like steering guards, winch bumpers or you could go a bit further with internal/external roll cages.
If it was me and the college was paying I would go with more difficult = better grades and less for you to spend when you have to pay for parts

Ah, that explains it...
You have access to milling machines, lathes etc. then... dufflock sounds like it has enough legs to give you plenty of design time and complicated enough construction

It's for when you want to use an alternative fuel such as waste engine oil or cooking oil for example. You'd pour the fluid in, it'd then slowly filter its self through a few membrane layers (your mums tights) where it is deposited into a large drum / container at the bottom. Then you'd add 10% white spirit or kerosene to thin it down, mix it thoroughly and it's then ready to be tapped straight into your fuel tank as fuel. Obviously if you're using veg oil you need to remove the glycerine ideally, but that's not as straight forward a process as thinning it down and mixing it unfortunately. Most people just whack straight veg oil into the tank anyway.

Yeah - I'd go with rear winch bumper possibly and / or rear wheel swing away carrier.
