What should I do?

Hi all,

First, I know Land Rovers are practically supposed to leak, but as a relatively new owner making my way through the vehicle, I noticed 2 leaks, 1 under the rear axle and 1 under what looks to be a drop arm ball joint. Any advice? Repair or just keep an eye on the fluids?

Well, 2 that I've been able to identify in the few weeks I've owned it o_O

Figure this is part of the steering box - but cant tell where the leak is coming from. Anyone tried brake fluid to swell the seals and had success?

Nope they aren’t supposed to leak. If there’s a leak, there’s a problem and ignoring a leak leads to more problems. It’s lazy or ignorant people that’ll tell you a lr is supposed to leak!

Leak on the ball joint will be duff seal in bottom of your pas box I expect! Couple caps might seal it but looks like it’s bad??

I used about 50ml of brake fluid to fix a steering box leaky seal. Six months later and it's still dry.

I'm going to give brake fluid or stop leak a shot and monitor - if it remains will explore a seal or god forbid, a box replacement
