Hi,

I have a vibrating noise that sounds like its coming from. I took the front shaft off and went for a drive and the noise had gone. I had intended on buying wide angle shafts so I brought a brand new wide angle shaft but when I fitted it this evening and went for a drive the noise came back with the front shaft on:confused: anyone got any idea as its left me puzzled

Yea I'm not Convinced that its mechanical, I can here it but can't feel anything. Its when I let off the throttle at a certain speed or crawling in a low gear.

I had similar probs turned out propshaft flange was a litgle loose but hey got to be worth a check first

My defender 90 pickup is a 1994 300tdi lifted 3inches with 33-1250-r15 millage 66000. it didn't vibrate when I brought the landy in April. Haven't tried taking rear prop off because noise when away when front shaft off. It vibrates if I drive to 35 and let off throttle and in 3rd about same speed and 2nd about 10mph.

Put my truck up on stands put her in second let off clutch on idle and found some nice crunching sounds on the offside front wheel were my suspect noise is coming from. Drained oil out of diff to check for any chunks of metal or filings and the was nothing:clap2: so my guess is bearings.
