Hello all
Quick question, yesterday I was out on a lane and I went up a steep incline to take some pictures of the car at a different angle. my left wheel spun so I engaged Diff lock and climbed up to the position I wanted to take the picture. I put the handbrake on turned the engine off and left it in first gear, I took the photos got back in and tried to start the engine. I turn the key and it just clicked, it sounded like the solenoid clicking I tried multiple times. I then managed to get off the incline and back onto a level surface, then I tried starting and it started first time. The battery is at 13 volts so I know it’s not lack of power. Is it because I was on an incline?
Any information greatly appreciated! Thanks all

Probably just a coincidence, Likely a poor connection at battery, starter or earths.

Thanks guys it happen again today on a flat surface I believe it’s the starter motor. Will remove it tomorrow clean it and bench test it if it works refit and test if not get a new one! Thanks for replying

I would start with battery earth, then battery to starter cable. Pulling the starter should be a last resort after everything else is tested.
Its a bit like pulling a tooth to put in a filling.

You weren't running on fumes in the tank were you - the pickup maybe sucking air rather than fuel when on the incline?
