hi can anybody tell me if the discovery1 gear box cross member is the same as the defender 90 300tdi's. i had to remove the gearbox today and unfortunatley the only way to get the cross member out was with an angle grinder someone had previously done a really crap repair on the chassis and welded over the cross member and three of the bolt heads . i can only seem to find disco ones for sale. any feed back appreciated. cheers mark

disco one can be used it needs some cutting on both sides to fit past seat box support brackets and 2 of the 10mm bolts dont line up but wernt used on def anyhow ,i fitted many when putting 300 tdis in a few years back

your a gentleman thankyou for you reply. dont want to spend a fortune on a new one as im doing a re-chassis in november intend on doing a thread on it we shall see. once again many thanks
