Just caught this little nugget in AutoExpress today; looks like the new Defender is on the home straight! Post this, not to inflame the old diehards who crave for the Defender 90 and 110 production lines to start up again, but to highlight the next step in JLR's somewhat rocky journey in trying to flog cars across all Continents! Here's hoping for a successful launch and plenty of buyers...:);)
Defender 2020

Strange, the article seems to show pics of a Discovery Commercial variant, no pics of a Defender.
JLR will never make another 4x4 Utility, they missed the boat when the Defender went out of production.

No matter what they design, it won't be made in the UK, Slovakia is mentioned in the article.
Perhaps they will export a few CKD versions for assembly at Lode Lane.

Not so, these pix are the latest released by JLR. Whilst I love my Defender, it nor any re-vamp of it is going to sell in the volumes to make it commercially viable for a company like JLR. I suspect Jim Ratcliffe will make a decent go at it; he's got Germans designing it and Germans supplying the engines; nothing wrong in that, per se, as it's all about business and none about nostalgia, which doesn't pay the bills, of course.:(

Nope, just checked, all there is is pictures of a Discovery Commercial all be it with a high roof.
Perhaps the Defender is parked behind it.
When are they bringing out the military version?

Check out the side scallops, higher bonnet and overall side profile and compare that to a commercial Discovery! Actually, just head down to SpecSavers instead:);)
