hi guys yesterday i changed the bulb of my temperature gauge on my ninety and when i fitted back the dash i switched on the lights and all worked fine. after a while i switched the ignition and the tempretaure guage needle went straight up all the way to the red zone...any ideas of what the problem is? before replacing the bulb the gauge worked fine....

sensing wire rubbed through or shorted to earth-possibly

multimeter checked the wirings everything is fine...when i remove the connector from the sender the gauge needle goes down so i am going to get a new sensor/sender tomorrow to try to figure it out

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago on my 200tdi. I replaced the sender but it was actually the gauge that was goosed.

If you have replaced sensor and gauge then it's either a) wiring issue of b) your engine is actually overheating.....
