Hello all - first post, and of course it is because I have a problem!
I have found a coolant leak on our defender - it is running down the side of the engine block (turbo side) behind the housing into which the water pump etc. fits.
I am assuming that the gaskets between this housing and the head/block are leaking. Is this housing separate from the timing belt housing?
Can I get it off and replace gaskets with the engine in situ? If so, what is the procedure. What bits do I need, and what parts are likely to get bust during the work that I also need to buy??
Wife uses this defender daily for work, so I have to get the job done over a weekend.
Thanks in advance.
PS - is it worth trying some "bars leaks" or "radweld" first????
