Hi everyone,
My first post here and need help.

I have been working on replacing a broken window regulator on my Defender 110.

I have replaced all the channeling and seals for the window and now at the part of getting the glass back into the door.

The whole regulator is being replaced including the glass lift assembly.

The problem I have is getting the lifting assembly back onto the bottom of the glass.

I’m afraid to force it and end up smashing the glass.

Is there a specific method to do this part?

I have circled the part I’m trying to refit.

Tony

From what I recall [ did mine some 3 years ago ] The carrier is fixed to the glass [ glued ] before the window goes in.
Be aware there are two thicknesses of glass used. Don't know for sure but guess different makers.
There are 4 and 5 mm thickness to be had. Makes no difference to the window guide rail it is the same for both, in fact all parts are the same and the window carrier can be spread a bit to fit if was on 4mm before.
