regards the red rectangular connector..yes given it a clean but will do as you suggest disconnecting & allowing it to stand upside down overnight. What is the switch you are pointing to? (inertia switch?) No chaffing to wires visible was very careful... only a 2002 Td5 Landy.

Just internally cleaned the red connector near fuse box etc Earlier I cleaned the wires leading to but on opening it up the thing was flooded. Can't understand it two days ago i was driving the vehicle.

Have used plenty of contact cleaner on the big red connector but am wondering if I've got a busted ECU???
