Really sorry to hear about the Landy, I hope it is found and comes back..but like you I think this is unlikely.

One thing I would add, you can rule out the Cable and Wireless guys, I am about to start working for them as I move to Wiltshire next month, the security checks they constantly do and at the time of your appointment makes the C&W guys being involved rather unlikely...not impossible..but unlikely.

I only mention it because it was the only change in 'routine' that week that involved the Landy. They would have been contractors I suspect mostly digging tranches for cabling.
But as I said in a previous post - no good pointing fingers without any facts.
Good luck with the job!

If you settle now and then your landy is found it will no longer be yours as it will belong to the insurance company. You can either hold fire and pray it does turn up, or you can take the money and try and negotiate a first refusal deal with the insurance company in the event that your landy does show up again.

Thanks for that - I wasn't 100% sure what would happen if it did turn up eventually.
Presumably if they recover bits of it or it damaged, they just write it off?

I keep checking eBay for parts....can't be too many Long Ranger fuel tanks in the country! Took me ages to get my hands on one (expensive too!)

You aint kidding. I've been looking for a long range tank for over a year. They are few and far between and cost an absolute fortune new.

I'm really sorry to hear about your Landy, my MGB was stolen years ago but I was very lucky that it was recovered 3 weeks later less than a mile away with only a broken window. Don't give up hope, some tea leaves aren't that clever and it might still be quite local.
Good luck

Ok, I'm gonna install a cut-off switch off my battery and have it secreted away somewhere. It'll really fck with their heads if they get through all the other security systems...

Well, it certainly makes sense to make it as difficult to steal as possible a) reduces the chances of an 'opportunist thief' and b) helps with an insurance claim (they asked a few questions determining how I knew I had definitely locked the vehicle)

I am glad you recovered yours. Interesting - that is about 3 Landys that were taken in a small area and around the same time.
