Hi,
New to forum, seems cool.I have a 110 commercal (hard top) and I want to do something with the back - when I bought the wagon it was shelved but I pulled it all out. Have a few dogs and do a bit of shooting so ifn anybody has any pics of suggested improvements I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Conor

Line the floor and wheel arches with 16mm rubber matting. The stuff that's intended for oss boxes - get it from yer local equestrian suppliers, cheep as chips.
Makes it much quieter and more comfy fer the dawgs.

Thanks, thats the direction I was thinking ofn going in alright. whats the best way to fix the matting or do you just cut it to size?

I cut mine to size with a stanley knife and fixed it with stainless steel self-tappers and penny washers.

Not the best photo, but you can see sommat.

you can the 3m/m ribbed matting or a 3m/m studded matting (like the discovery side steps have) and glue it with an evostik type glue all though i would advise against gluing as it traps moisture. this matting is widley used on the tops of toolboxes and forklift footwells. it can be bought by the meter from almost any flooring companies i used flooring solutions in alfreton. you can also get an angled aluminium (gold or silver coloured) from this same company and use this to fasten the corners of the wheel arches and make a neat looking job and by doing it this way you can take the matting out to clean it or dry out the floor of the landy.

For Ya Floor Id Say Get A Sheet Of Tread Plate (about 60 Quid For 8foot X4 Foot Sheet 2mm Thick , About A Quid A Cut From The Supplier , I Recommend A Company Called "aalco" Branches Are National .
For The Wall And Roof I Used 0.6 Mm Aluminium Sheets (8x4 Or 6x3 Foot) It Is Really Easy To Mould Around Contours Held In With Pop Rivets . O.6 Mm Can Be Easily Cut With A Knife By Scoring And Bending It Down , Eventualy It Will Shear Off Or Use The Wifes Best Scissors (deny All Knowledge When She Finds Out There Missing ) , After Fitting Vinegar Will Degrease It Very Well Then Using Bog Standard Pva Ya Can Lay Either Lino Or A Foam Backed Carpet Over It Ive Done At Lest 20 Like This And Ubber Easy And Cheap . Pva Both The Carpet/lino For The Roof It Will Just Stick Up There On Its Own , I Put Insulation Behind The Sheets On Mine For Warmth And Sound Deadening. THE OFF CUTS FROM THE FLOOR SHEET MAKES FOR EASY SIDE BODY FLOOR COVERS

1st of all fook off and stick ya chequer plate up ya :mooning: .

2ndly anything stuck on with pva will fall of in a couple of months. once the condensation and then the heat of the sun on the roof has got to work it won't last long at all. If your going to stick anything to the roof use a good quality adhesive that is designed for sticking roof linings in cars.

Ah just got some thin ply for the sides, some of that cheapo wobbly fibre board and some foil backed polystyrene stuff that ye can stick under laminate floorin' for the roof. stuck the polywhatsits foil side facin' the roof and sides and pop rivetted the boards on. Haven't bothered too much with the floor apart from lashin' some of that stonechip stuff on for now. Ah'll get round tae gettin' some of that rubber mattin' tho';)

dearest redhands , pva is an all purpose ahdesive made from guess wat latex rubber , hense sticks like **** to a blanket on guess wat ....rubber backed carpet and lino also rubber backed
also pva when in contact with a smooth surface such a degreased ali makes a perfect bond which guess wat is water proof (been rubber ) its know as vacumus inertia

car roof liners are suspended on rods not stuck with ya special adesive which you clearly have been sniffing i assume
.
condensation builds up in the cool air not the heat and been as it second skin it wouldnt build up any how

think you will find the correct term for "chequer plate " is aluminium 5 bar tread plate which is harder wearing on a floor than rubber and been as dogs are been transported ,on a hot day tread plate would reduce the build up of heat in the floor pan thus stop the dogs sweating and actuall keep them cooler .it also doesnt carve up like rubber this will be why they use it as industrial non slip fooring and used on things such as artics trailer beds etc etc
so dear red hand if ya spent a little more time thinking before you wrote and perhaps engaging ya brain once in a while maybe your job would be rebuilding land rovers etc instead of unblockin drains ,and in turn maybe you wouldnt single at your age

ya dont even know me so wind ya neck in ,a batchelors in mechanical engineering, 8 ramps , thriving business , fully booked for a month in advance , out sorce contract for mod tends to signify i may know a little more about it than a self confessed jack of all trades (plumber/joiner) master of none .

it was advice on wat we have and do do its foook all to do with you
if ya want to stick your neck out a bit more son shine try sticking out in my garage 9 to 13 church street , hull east yorkshire . do feel free to pop in any time hell well even through a free service in. thats if you can spare the time off from trawling the forum trying to make ya self feel bigger and better about ya sad little life by vainly attempting to sound professional but just proving your not . doubt well see ya

I stand corrected I thought you were just a little ****wit but it seems you are a major prick, Please accept my apologies for my unforgivable miscalculation.

  pva  are you referring to the white wood glue ==poly vinyl acetate ??

then if so !! it will only bond to absorbent surfaces ie wood an carboard an such like , it cannot be absorbed by metal an rubber as they are both waterproof :p :p evo stick the fooker on :D :D
