This started a couple of weeks ago. I need to put a bulkhead on her as there's plenty of holes in the bulkhead.
Consequently if I gas it heavily I can smell exhaust which is why I'm thinking this is the culprit for this new smell. I gotta say it's like a really special lingering meat fart which doesn't go away until you shut the engine off. Sometimes it's more of a propane gassy smell. This is whether in idle or driving. I'm on a 2 week holiday with the family and it's becoming an issue.
I'm pretty sure the exhaust manifold has started leaking also due to sorting, don't know if this is connected.
Any ideas?
TIA

That manifold leak will do it. Keep windows open, get some gaffer tape over holes. Sort issue as soon as possible.

Is it just the gas from the manifold or is something blocked? I ask because how come it doesn't smell like that at the back end? It's a straight through pipe

Used to notice that smell from car exhausts when they first introduced catalytic converters (mid 1990's)- some were worse than others.
Never seem to get that any more...
Does your truck have a catalyst box? might be damaged, maybe delete it?

Check the voltage at the battery incase the alternator is over charging.
Starter battery is fine but sniffing around the leisure has uncovered the culprit. Only 5 months old. Split charge setup delivering 14.74 v into it. Is that too high?

Leisure battery is smelling. 14.76v coming in from split charger. Disconnect the +ve and -ve smell stops. Bit of Leakage as seen in photo

Don't breathe-in battery acid fumes.... google that. o_O

14.76v is OK when bulk-charging a drained battery, but ideally -
At some point it should drop to around 13. 3v and trickle / float charge at a lower rate.
If it isn't, maybe something is wrong with either the battery or with the charge system.

Is the split charger meant to do a smart-charge to both batteries at the same time?:vb-confused2:

Too high for charging.
What system have you got for the split charge?

What is the car battery charging at?
