Hi

Our neighbour put £4 of petrol in dis diesel 110 - realised before staring and brimmed with diesel then run it - all ok for around a week. Then it coughed on the way home but no warning light no lack of power etc got home ok. Went to start later & wouldn't just turns over doesn't even try to catch. AA man out - said to drain fuel tank and put diesel cleaner in - re- fill with fuel and 'bobs your uncle' ! We have done this it ran - left it overnight wouldn't start, fuel filter empty. Have drained fuel again & dropped tank & fitted a new pump, pumped pedal 5 times to prime system and guess what - still won't start ?! (Have checked pump which we removed & is definately a gonna) Have taken drain of filter & primed but filter not recieving fuel still ??

Any help much appreciated

So your not getting fuel to the filter?
Is the new pump faulty?
Have you checked for power to the pump?
Can't you hear it trying to prime?
When I change the fuel filter on my td5 I don't have to pump the pedal, it just buzzes when the ignition is switched on then it'll start when the buzzing stops
Can't imagine the 3 litres of petrol in 60+ of diesel would make much difference.

I've got several jerry cans of petrol diesel mix from mis-fuelled cars. I put a gallon or two in the tank of my 2003 TD5 then fill with diesel. Never had any trouble with it, up to 10% petrol is good in diesel if operating in cold climate, stops it waxing. Sounds like its not priming.
Mike.

Ok thanks no fuel in filter was told by landrover to pump pedal 5 times to iniciate pump - but nothing. Will drop tank again & test new pump but might be feed to pump - for that its going to be out of my hands I think :-(
