Can anyone list the differences between a left hand drive and right hand drive 300 Tdi Defender 90 chassis? I've found a good chassis and would like to know how much work (if any) is involved. Thanks

I know someone who used to make them for Landrover, meeting him for a drink tonight so I'll ask him then.
He does like to 'no show' regularly though..
At a guess it's just front chassis leg difference.

Thanks for that, have a couple of beers for me. If he doesn't show you may as well have his share!

Not sure if there are any differences in the actual chassis. Vehicle manufacturers tend to make chassis the same for RHD and LHD, save on tooling costs.
Looking at the Richard website, I see that S3 chassis can be ordered with options for either, or universal fit. They don't offer any options for Defenders, which suggests to me that the chassis are the same.

My first thoughts are the bolt holes in the front chassis leg for the power steering pump. IIRC mine had the holes on both legs though? Not 100% sure, but worth checking out.

With the Series the front will be different for the steering relay is all I can think of. I'm hoping that you're right in that the Defender will be for both to save on tooling and production runs. I'll scramble under a LHD and check if the steering box mounting holes are there both sides, thanks for your help.

That was my main concern in the steering could fit on either chassis leg. I think the fuel tank & exhaust mounts are the same, I,ll check it out as soon as I see a LHD, Thanks for your help.

Chassis is the same on all Defenders for LHD and RHD.

Panhard rod bracket is different, but that’s a separate part.

Thanks for all the info on the chassis. I managed to have a look under a Spanish registered 90 in the Leclerc car park. He had a top quality steering damper which I swapped with mine and left a note on his windscreen saying 'Viva Catalonia! '. That'll go down well!
