My central locks has been working great until a few days ago. I was washing the car and the day after it dropped below zero celcius so I think this has something to do with it. When I unlock it with FOB it occationally opens the driver side knob only half way up and does not unlock the door. I can unlock it then with the key. Also when I lock it with the FOB it occationally (2 out 3 times) though seemingly locking the doors, the knob goes down, alarm on, still leave the driver side door unlocked. could this be a frozen up sotuation or what part should I look into. Opened the lining last summer when replaced the knobs and all looked fine. The electrics seem to work as they should but some lack of communication between that and the physical lock itself.

Perhaps a stupid idea but is your battery OK - cold spell and not enough oomph to fire the actuators? Or, in a similar vein have any terminals in the system got wet / corroded and are now robbing voltage?

Give the button that goes up and down on the doors a squirter of wd40 and operate them several times and they will free off, mine do this about once a year when cold and the wd40 does the trick ok. You could try silicon spray instead.

Thanks, yeah yesterday I sprayed gun oil (was the only thing I had home as all wd40 was at the garage) into the lock and today is seems to work normally. I thought it would be something like that. good to know it's common and that this procedure actually will do the trick. I will give it a good WD40 treatment. So you soray it around the up/down knob which is inside the car? is it the knob that jams in the frame? I so far just sprayed in the locking mechanism.

Check the attachment of the door central locking solenoid to the lock actuating rod I've had one loose giving this symptom

Yes I just spray it around and the up/down knob and down the gap in the door card around it.

I spraued around the knob and cleaned around the locking system and then sprayed WD40 all over the moving parts I got to without taking the card off and it seems to have soled the situation. Now it locks and opens as should. Thanks for the inputs.
