If you use metrics it normally says: 60 cm. (centimeters). mm is normally only used for very small measurements.
Depends on wot ya used to. I frequently deal in mesurements of hundreds of mils

Yes, but that's different, kitchen cabinets usually are standard 60 cm (600 mm), when it comes to special measures then they often use the mm's, like carpenters and so, but will always refer to for example 6 cm and 8, where the 8 is mm, they won't say 68 mm from the start. (or they say 6 and 8, they see what they mean then). Maybe with the standardisation and so they indicate measures all in mm these days but in the past it wasn't like that and being 70 now I mean in the past .....

I'm sure i'm not on my own in this, and not wanting to get into an argument about it, but in my experience in engineering and construction millimetres are used by the majority.

Freelaner is correct. In the UK mm is the norm for metric dimensions, particularly in engineering.

I give up, will certainly be correct to use mm as standardmeasurements, especially in engineering. Also there are no rubbish posts at all on this forum. But now to keep going on with metrics, now that you lot have taken the first step in mm, when will it be kilometers (i/o miles), liters (i/o gallons), are (i/o acre), euro (i/o pounds), kilo (i/o pounds and stones etc..), plus all the rest I didn't think of. Still a long way to go to become a decent nation I'm afraid ......
Ps: just respond the way you feel, I took my precautions and put my hat on.

Who cares what these filthy Yanks are spelling it, I did it in Flemish ...
And as this forum handles about cars I thought mainly when referring to speed etc.. doing so many kilometres per hour and not miles per hour, one of the standard tests for cars is from 0 to 60 (miles) for us it is from 0 to 100 kmph, and for the litres the same, when we refer to the consumption of a car we say it as XX litres per 100 kilometres and not as XXX mpg. Our speedometers indicate also the kilometres per hour, probably that's why the FL are so much more expensive overhere, half of the dash needs replaced for us. So our meter is in kilometres, which seems normal to me.... and the tankmeter is in litres .... what more can you find out to confuse humanity ?????:lol::lol::lol::lol:
