I like the look of the steel wheels but would like a wider rim for 25 85 16 tyre's.
Deep dish steel land rover wheels are very expensive if you can find them.
I have some odd wheels kicking about and have come up with a plan.
Remove the riveted land rover wheel centre by grinding the rivets and cutting a slot in the rim.
Grind the welded centre out of a 6.5x16 weller/8 spoke wheel and tap in the land rover wheel center in to the reversed rim, true up and weld in.
You now have a 6.5x16 deep dish land rover wheel.
I have done this on my morris van and also my caravan in the past.
7x16 weller wheel rim is to large for the land rover center but the 6.50x16 weller fits the center nicely.

Had a bit of luck at the scrap yard last week
In a pile of wheels I spotted four 7.50x16 tyres stacked in a neat pile
On lifting the top one up to check that they were land rover wheels and what size they really were I was amazed to see the top 3 all with goodyear g90 tyres were green deep dish 130 wheels.
I gave him £80,very happy

Ive seen wheels get banded they cut the wheel in half and add a steel band to the width you require its precision stuff dont think i would try it myself lol

that's interesting, didn't know you could do that, do you know if its an expensive thing to do?

I saw it on wheeler dealers they have a grinder on a machine that cuts through the wheel but not all the way, then they are able to slide half of it over to add the band say 2" for instance then weld it back up, it didnt take long so dont think it would be expensive, i think it was a chevy stepside they did it on im sure it would be on youtube
