Guys, I need help. Not just in medical way either.

Having bought a nice shiny, I have cash left for a V8 off-road project. I just cannot decide whether to go for a 3.9/4.0 Disco-1 or a classic Rangey.

The vehicle is going to get a lift, mental tyres, ridiculous spotlamps, some underneath body protection and a few other bits.

The problem is that good nick classics are getting rarer, and I'd actually feel "guilty" about off-roading a nice original. On they other hand, there are quite a few V8 Discos about for 2k and under - I have spotted a '98 one with only 70k on it.

Help!!!

Not with a seven seater disco there's less room in the boot.
With out the two seats it's still the about the same even though the classic has a inside spare wheel fitted, there's no plactic bits at the side as in a disco taking up space.

Space is an issue as I may be chucking all sorts of crap in the back from time to time. After all this time, I actually find the split tailgate a bit of a pain... you have to howk in and out of the back all the time when your loading any sort of stuff.

What am I on about.... I've got my shiny clean leather sensible kids+missus Discovery...

I want a motor that makes a statement.

That's gotta be the classic, surely?

Go rangie, i had 87 v8, with chunky tyres, throw diff in and it wud go up everest!!
