Hi,
An introduction, My names Stuart from South Yorhshire.
About 4 years ago I bought a new toy, a `76 3 series landy & I loved it but the wife didnt, she wouldnt go out in it unless she had to so it had to go. I bought a new toy, a `84 Porsche 924, after 6 months of getting it on the road & sprayed up I wrote it off (wife didnt like this either) so I bought another one, a `88 Porsche 944 which ive had for around two years now, its my baby Ive done loads to it but you guessed it, wife dosent like it, she wants a proper car (why shes so bothered I dont know as she cant even drive) so as I was thinking, do I get a proper car or get rid of the wife it came to me, she wants a car, I like Landys................... FREELANDER!!!
Anyway, yesterday I put a deposit on a Black W reg SWB 1.8 EXi, 1 owner, FSH, 54k, leather, air con etc. Ive shown her pics & so far so good, she loves it. Then my worries begin, I join this forum & see the 1.8 getting slagged to bits cos of the head problem. The guy told me that the problem was with models up to 1999 but according to the forum this is not the case. It seems to drive spot on but time will tell eh? The only thing wrong as far as I know is the tailgate window dosent work.

How capable are these off road & in water??
Oh & whats a hippo???

Thanks for allowing me to bore you with my intro, I`ll keep my future contributions short & sweet.

Hi and welcome.

i dont think you can get rid of the bride just yet.

dont like 1 landy and 2 poshes
+ likes 1 flander (even though petrol)
= 1-1 on aggregate as anything non landy dont count, and i cant fault her not liking the poshes.

dont go for the petrol flander, if you must have the gay wig washer model get the deezul.

As far as off road goes, it wont go far off road.
and the deezul will go further in the puddles than the petrol.

hippos are a big gobbed animal that loves the mud.
A cross between a wife and a proper landy.

i do have both, but try not too mix the 2.

Its a bit too late for the "deezul" one unfortunatly, we`ll see how we get on with this one (when I eventually get to pick it up). May get one of them next time if all goes well.
I prefer the look of the 3 door but the 5 looks more practical. I initially thought the 3 door was smaller but looking at the specs on a website I found its the same length! Just wondering what goodies I can waste me money on for it now! (dont say a shed load of head gaskets)
