Been going through my spares box in the garage, and found some clear lenses and orange bulbs that weren't being used. Had the idea of swapping over my front indicators to see how it looked. Still undecided which I prefer, so I thought I'd ask you lot :p

The all-clear look does look neater, but I'm not sure if it's too much against the white headlight surrounds. Thoughts? :)

As you can (just) see in my avatar, I've done my D1 - it looks much better IMHO, as does your 90/110. I like it:)

I'm normally a fan of the original look, but I have to say the clear indicators look alright with the all-white front of your Land Rover. Gives it that 'ice-cool' look.

Not for me. I think the D1 looks good "de-ambered", and my old Boxster is de-ambered too and looks loads better, and younger for it, but IMHO a Defender looks better with ambers. To me it makes the sidelights look like proper sidelights, and connects it with the older stuff. If they are both white, just looks like a random collection of lights.

If anything, if I did want it to look different, I'd probably "tint" the ambers and put in brighter bulbs. All the rage in the 80s if I remember rightly!

I quite like the clear lens with orange light inside setup. A couple of Christmases ago I got my Land Rover a set of the Bolt on Bits lights for a present. They've been good so far. They don't blow bulbs and they don't seem to fill up with water. Plus they've got flat backs so you can put them wherever you like - although I've put them in the conventional positions. But if you wanted an extra reversing light or fog light it would be easy to do. Also, you get comments such as 'Really like your lights, where did you get them?'

This was a discussion I had with myself a little while ago and the decision we made was that the original look was preferred.
Hence a new set of traditional side / indicators and replacement headlights as per my avatar

One of the first things I did to mine (I've left the backs standard). Not sure why, but think it works better on my particular front end (ooooh errrr). Might be due to the colour, might just be in my head. But hey ho, each to their own :)
