there is both permanent and ignition switch terminals spare in the fusebox, just above and to the left.

just need insulated female spade connectors to connect to them, as they are like a male spade coming out of the block.

Saw a FL1 today with DRL strips below the headlights. I thought it looked pretty good. I'm hoping it's still parked there tonight so I can get a closer look.
 
Standard 4 pin relay.

PIN 30 Battery feed
PIN 87 T DRL's
PIN 85 Ignition Feed
PIN 86 Earth side of side light buld

For good measure I'd fuse pin 30 and pin 85 and if there LED's about 5 amps.

Ignition off ,no feed to relay coil, no lights.
Ignition on, side lights off, DRL's on
Ignition on, side lights on, the earth side of the side light bulb now becomes live therefore turning the relay off so no DRL's
