who's datatek ?
He is an electrical genius and P38 EAS Guru....who dislikes the L322 due to its:
Cost
Looks
Problems
Its a Range Rover
Its not P38 (which he maintains is crap - but its cheap crap)

I heard a rumour that DataTek secretly owns a L322 and loves it. He carried out a P38 headlight conversion though so no one can tell.

I think that he takes a reasonable view that there are better 4x4s, particularly Toyotas. If you can't afford one, there's little point in spending more than you need to on a runner up.
I think my P38 is terrific but I'd feel much more confident setting off for Cape Town in a Landcruiser.

I can afford any Toyota - do I want one? No. Some people actually like their Range Rovers despite the shortcomings. I'd buy a Rav 4 for the missis but I'd rather drive a less reliable Freelander, similarly I'd take a Rangie over any Toyota - even if the Toyota was half the price. Soulless domestic appliances are for soiled underpants. I want to drive a car I actually like.

The L322 certainly doesn't seem to be immune to problems, much like the P38. I'm still going to get one at some point though :)

There is a very very nice L322 on Piston Heads. It was a 03 4.4 V8 but has been converted by a company darn sarth to be exactly the same as a 2011 Autobiography. He is only asking 10k for it. Must've cost him more than that to do as the wheels alone were 3k worth.
